Easy decision

The prospect of an extreme social liberal with a Muslim name and background, who voted against English as our official language, and will surrender this country to illegal aliens, becoming President of the United States causes me great concern. But if my choices were between Barack Obama and George Bush, I would vote for Obama without hesitation.

Reason #627

Castro has resigned. Cheney and Bush will now claim this as justification for invading Iraq.
Really, I can't wait to see how the Cheney/Bush crowd try to take credit for this much like Bush Senior desperately tried to take credit for the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Old time religion

Did you hear about the female referee who was barred from working a boys high school basketball game at St. Mary's Academy near Topeka Kansas? The reason given was that a woman could not be put in a position of authority over boys. Normally you only find behavior like that from fundamentalist Muslims in the Middle East. That's why I have a problem with religious nut jobs. Scary people.

Buying Friends

There has been a lot of talk recently about the success of Bush's "Surge" in Iraq. The extra troops are responsible for a small part of the reduction in violence and its not hard to understand why.
If you post cops on every street corner of any high crime area, of course there is going to be a reduction in crime... until they leave. The biggest reason for the calmer atmosphere is that we are literally buying cooperation on a person by person basis. We are handing out millions of dollars in cash to individual Iraqi's and asking them to be nice to us. Just like having a cop on every corner, that will work until you can't do it any more and that time is coming soon.

Maybe its just me but.....

Venezuela president Hugo Chavez announces that he is considering the possibility, of an outside chance, that he just might think, about shutting down oil supplies to the United States and we instantly have our wallets raped at the gas pump. Why does the conspirator in me immediately think that this might be more scripted than spontaneous? You persuade one looney tune with oil to make a threat and all of them make a few extra billion for a couple weeks.

When it's over, will Levin even know your name?

State representative Jack Hoogendyk has announced his intention to challenge United States senator Carl Levin. Talk about your Don Quixote taking on a Windmill. I don't think anyone including Jack thinks he has a snowball's chance in hell of beating Carl, but that's not what this is about. He does have a good chance of winning the Republican nomination and the right to challenge Senator Levin since rep. Andrew Raczkowski withdrew, and along with the Republican nomination comes a lot of publicity and contacts within the party for what Jack really wants, state senator George's seat. Tom George is term limited in two years and thats the seat Jack really thinks he has a shot at. The publicity also won't hurt when he runs his wife this fall for the seat he is losing to term limits.

If your from out of town, adapt

I was buying some floss the other day and the brand I finally chose was the one that didn't have a foreign language written on it in addition to English.
